Ed Mirvish Way

On Wednesday April 15, 2009, the stretch of Duncan Street from King Street West to Pearl Street was named in honour of Honest Ed Mirvish by the City of Toronto.

Honest Ed Mirvish became involved in the theatre business in 1963, when he bought the Royal Alexandra Theatre.

He is acknowledged as helping to save theatre in Toronto.

He went on to build the Princess of Wales Theatre with his son David Mirvish.

Mirvish died in 2007 at the age of 92.
